How are wood blinds different than traditional plastic (pvc) blinds?
Natural wood blinds differ from traditional styles, which are typically a faux wood made out of PVC plastics. Sometimes these plastics coat a natural wood core, and other times the product will be made entirely of PVC.
Plastic blinds are not as lightweight as their natural counterparts and ofen creating a large, indiscreet stack when raised up. Aside from that, it’s just not as easy to replicate the sophisticated, organic look of real wood with faux wood blinds. For that reason, many people opt for the real thing.
If you plan to stain other décor elements such as wooden furniture or flooring, then wood blinds allow you to match your window coverings perfectly. One thing to consider when choosing real wood is the maintenance – avoid using harsh chemicals when cleaning your blinds.
