Window Treatments
Shutters that stay with the house
Classic Heritance® hardwood, NewStyle® hybrid and Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ shutters, built to your window’s exact measurements, hung by our own installers, and covered by a lifetime installation warranty.

Plantation shutters are the one window treatment that becomes part of the house. Once a Classic Heritance® hardwood, NewStyle® hybrid or Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ is fitted into a frame built for that exact opening, it reads less like a covering and more like trim — millwork that tilts. That permanence is the appeal, and it’s why we’re so careful about getting shutters right.
We’ve been fitting window treatments to southeast Michigan homes since 1952, and our Ann Arbor showroom, the largest Hunter Douglas showroom in the state, has full-size shutter displays you can open, tilt, and lean on. Our designers don’t work on commission, so the advice is about your windows, not a sales target. Start there, narrow the field together — then comes the free in-home consultation and measure, samples in hand.

Heritance®: genuine hardwood
Heritance® shutters are crafted from real hardwood with dovetailed joinery — the same construction as good furniture, finished in a deep range of paints and stains. The weight and grain are what you notice first; the decades of quiet service are what you appreciate later.
They’re the classic choice for living rooms, dens, and bedrooms — anywhere the window deserves millwork rather than a covering.

NewStyle®: the smart middle
NewStyle® hybrid shutters pair a real-wood core with a durable modern finish that stands up to everyday life without giving up the crisp, painted-wood look. Same made-to-measure fit, same lifetime installation warranty, friendlier price.
It’s the line we point to when the plan covers many windows at once — a whole house of shutters that reads consistent from the curb and from the couch.

Palm Beach™: built for steam and sun
Palm Beach™ shutters are made of Polysatin™ — a material that shrugs off moisture, humidity, and hard sunlight without warping, cracking, or fading. In a state that swings from humid July to furnace-dried January, that resilience earns its keep.
It’s our near-automatic recommendation for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and mudrooms — and its bright whites stay bright, year after year.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Every shutter is priced by the window, so cost depends on size, material, and shape — a standard double-hung runs less than an arched bay. We quote each opening after measuring, and our Best Price Promise means you won’t find the identical product for less anywhere else.
Stop into the Ann Arbor or Plymouth showroom — the visit, the measuring, and the advice, we’ve got you covered.
