PowerView Automation is a low-voltage system that uses a 16/2 low-voltage wire run to the inside right corner of each window opening. These wires connect back to a 16-shade transformer in your utility room, plugged into a dedicated 15-amp outlet.
Prewiring your home during construction means your shades will always have reliable power — no batteries, no recharging, and no exposed cords.
If you skip prewiring, your only option later will be battery-powered shades (using 12 AA batteries or a rechargeable pack). While that works, a prewired system looks cleaner and performs better long term.
